TUNÇ ÖZŞAKAR
Kadir Tunç Özşakar, who has played an important role in the recognition and spread of
jazz ballet in Turkey, joined the Ankara State Opera Ballet in 1993 after completing his
jazz ballet education in Atlanta, Georgia, and within the same year, he assumed roles as
both a dancer and choreographer in musicals and various theatre plays under the State
Theatres. In 1994, he started serving as a dancer and choreographer in the Children’s
Ballet Department of the Ankara State Opera Ballet. In 2000, he represented Turkey as a
dancer and choreographer in the Eurovision Song Contest and took part in numerous
events such as “So You Think You Can Dance? Turkey” and “Miss Turkey”. Additionally,
he has worked as a choreographer for various television programs and continues to
serve as an instructor and choreographer in the Children’s Ballet Department of the
Ankara State Opera Ballet.
