He was born in Istanbul. Following his primary education, Mr. Alptekin completed his secondary and high school education at the French Lycée Saint-Benoît. He then entered the Opera Singing Program of the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory in 1982. He studied opera singing with Prof. Mesut Iktu (Baritone) and stage performance with State Artist Aydın Gün. He graduated from the Conservatory in 1990-1991 school year.
He performed in Istanbul Gülü (Istanbul Rose), Sihirbaz Oz (Wizard of Oz), Bir Uzay Masalı (A Space Tale) at the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet for a short period of time. When the Directorate of Mersin State Opera and Ballet was founded in 1992, Mr. Yazıcı succeeded in the orchestral exam and began his career as soloist that same year.
He currently serves as soloist at the Mersin State Opera and Ballet. In 1998-1999 season, he performed Leponello as guest artist in W. Amadeus Mozart´s Don Giovanni opera directed by Mehmet Ergüven at the Izmir State Opera and Ballet. In 1999-2000 season, he performed in Dichterliebe (The Poet’s Love) at a recital with soprano Nazlı Alptekin and pianist Dr. Ahad Askerov.
In addition to his opera performances, Mr. Alptekin also gave many concerts in the accompaniment of orchestra and piano.
He appeared as soloist at various performance events including the Spring Concert with the Mersin University Academic Chamber Orchestra (May 2002), opening concert of the season with the Istanbul Chamber Orchestra (October 2003), and gala concert of the Bodrum D-Marin Turgutreis International Classical Music Festival with the Bursa Region State Symphony Orchestra (which was first organized in the summer of 2005).
From 2002 to 2005, he regularly participated in the World Culture Festival in Germany (Hassloch, Neustadt and Frankfurt) as soloist.
